We had the joy of interviewing a very unique artist who goes by “Maddius” his story and music is as unique as his name. Be sure to check out the exclusive feature bellow and stay tuned for more announcements from our latest official Now Hip Hop artist!

Bio:

Maddius is the Miami born and raised writer/MC. Developing his musical talent since he was a small child, Maddius slowly evolved from the heavy metal/indie-alternative rock scene, and developed into a full fledged hip hop artist. By no means does Maddius claim he is from the mean streets of Miami, but his crew had to claw their way into the music scene, developing their craft one studio hour at a time. Having constantly collaborated and written for other artist, Maddius is now becoming a stand-alone sensation ready to give his fans what they want. Maddius looks forward to sharing his sound and music with the world, conquering the hip-hop charts one song at a time.

What is your background? tell us where you grew up and some information about your upbringing/experiences as a youth:
I was born and raised in Miami and I was brought up listening to hip- hop my whole life. Music carried me through a lot of dark times when I was growing up.

At what moment did you know that music was part of your life and what feelings did you have towards making an active impact with your music?
Music has been a part of my life since I was a small child. I bought my first album when I was 8; it was the Eminem Show. It changed the way I thought about everything.

What artists inspired/influences you and if you could collaborate with any artist (alive or passed) who would it be and why?
Top 5 would currently be (and not necessarily in order): A$AP Rocky, Eminem, Kanye West, Drake, and Logic. Each of these artists in one-way or another (to me) consistently demonstrates the capability to relate/speak to an entire generation in an incredibly captivating way. They motivate me to do the same.
What do you think about the current state of hip hop/mainstream music?
I think that hip-hop is in its golden age. It seems like more and more varieties of the genre are being accepted and praised every day, and that’s vital when it comes to creating art. People need to be able to express themselves in any which way that they please.
Currently, what projects do you have in the works that you are most excited about?
I have several projects in the works. I’m currently wrapping up a string of singles that I’m particularly excited for, and I’m planning to release them over the next few months. From there, chances are there’ll be a mixtape.
What are your short term career goals within the next 6-10 months?
Over the next 6-10 months my goal is simply to stay on track, and hopefully find some sort of representation.
What are your long term career goals within the next 2-5 years?
In the next two – five years, my goal is to become successful through my music. I hope to be playing shows on the regular, at the least, if not signed to a label, or doing something bigger on an independent level.

If you had one song out of the catalog you have created to show a person what song would it be and why?
It would be my latest release, “All Mine”. There was so much emotion in this track for me, and it came out so well, and so naturally. When I finished recording it, I knew people had to hear it.

To the person who had never heard of you what is it about your music and story that you would tell them to entice them to be a supporter?
In the realest sense, It’s always, 100%, unadulterated me on every track I record. I can only hope my experiences that I talk about in my music will relate to at least one other soul that can appreciate, and hopefully take something, from my words.

If your music could be described in five words what would those five words be?
deliberate, emotional, real, catchy, and unrestrained.
What do you bring to the game that is unique and different?
I’m my own person, with my own experiences, and I talk about them in my own way.
To the aspiring artist who is considering a career as a musician what lessons or advice would you give them to inspire them or to uplift them in the journey?
Never give up on yourself. Never give up on your dreams. There are times to be practical, but at the end of the day, you need to do what makes you happy, whatever that be. Also, I believe just about anything can be accomplished through self-discipline and hard work; so always persevere.
What are your social media profiles and where can people purchase/download your music?
Any songs that are downloadable you can download at:
www.soundcloud.com/maddiusmusic

What are your final words you would like to say to people that you have left out?
I work hard every single day on my music, because my music ranks up there amongst the most important things in my life. It is the best (and maybe only) way I know how to express myself, and I deeply appreciate every person that listens to what I have to say. I can only hope that my words inspire others, and maybe help bring some solace to those that need it, the way that listening to many of my own favorites artists has done for me.
