Hello my name is Rico Lipscomb aka Rico montana. I am a 27 year old rapper from Alexandria, Va. I was raised by my grandmother due to my mother and father not wanting me because of my skin complexion. I grew up n Del Ray, at that time it was the gutters of alexandriava. I realisedi had a gift when i was 6 years old. I started writing poetry and was able to rhyme with my older family members.
My musical influences are Lloyd banks 50 cent Busta rhymes fabolouseminem Kirko bangz and kendricklamar. Lloyd banks is my all time favorite rapper. He is the reason I started rapping. To me he is like watching Kobe Bryant play in his prime like its crazy I’ve never heard a wack Banks verse. So I try to incorporate a little of all there styles into one artist like eminem freestyle ability busta’s energy fabolous n bank’s punchlines k.dots word play and 50 cents hooks writing skills and aggressiveness.
Music has always been away to escape the pains and hardships i was facing and still face its not just a hobby its a way of life i live breathe n sleep thinking about music like i can visualize the video or concept before writing. It come easy and naturally to me like walking or talking.
What is your background? tell us where you grew up and some information about your upbringing/experiences as a youth:
“Well I grew up in Alexandria VA del Ray to be exact raised by my grandma Wilhelmina clay lol love u granny I grew up n da good 236 Wesmond drive I seen n was involved n alotta of the crazy shit out there”
At what moment did you know that music was part of your life and what feelings did you have towards making an active impact with your music?
“In 1999 when I heard my first 50 CENT song then in 2004 when my favorite rapper of all time Lloyd banks dropped money in the banks man I was like man I wanna be just like him”
What artists inspired/influenced you and if you could collaborate with any artist (alive or passed) who would it be and why?
“Lloyd banks 50 CENT fabolous kirko bangz Tupac a Kendrick Lamar all are artists I wanna work with I was inspired by banks and 50cent u can hear it in my music like to me 50 n banks if combined are the perfect artists bars and song write ablity.”
What do you think about the current state of hip hop/mainstream music?
“Honestly I had a diss record at all mainstream artist how to rob 2017 it’s only a couple of artists I like majority of the time I just listen to old mixtapes”
Currently, what projects do you have in the works that you are most excited about?
“I’m most excited about Return of the zombie 3 & my debut LP Memories of Nobody.”
What are your short term career goals within the next 6-10 months?
“get signed to a label.”
What are your long term career goals within the next 2-5 years?
“have a platinum album and set my children up for life that’s who I do this for.”

” Right now it would be the songs of my LAP M.O.N”
To the person who had never heard of you what is it about your music and story that you would tell them to entice them to be a supporter?
“I’m giving you raw real bars no mumble SHYT bars like back in the day in they are real.”
If your music could be described in five words what would those five words be?
“Something you can play over”
What do you bring to the game that is unique and different?
“I bring that raw talent like you can put me against anyone out now and I’d eat them for a snack.”
To the aspiring artist who is considering a career as a musician what lessons or advice would you give them to inspire them or to uplift them in the journey?
“Never quit even when the chips are down and your back against the wind keep pushing bruh.”
