We had the pleasure of interviewing an incredible group that we consider to be “Up Next” in an era in which Hip Hop has lost the art of the group we found one authentic group of young, talented and hard working men who are ready to change the game for the better.

T.H.E.M. is a rap group from West Philly of five people. Non-Stop, King Twigg, Jey Supreme, Sckoley, and Sonny da Kid. T.H.E.M. became friends in 2012 when they got into a fight for Jey Supreme it was a 40 on 40 free for all. Skoley, King Twigg, and Sonny da Kid grew up with each other since birth they’re cousin, the same for Non-Stop and Jey Supreme. Even though T.H.E.M. lived near each other their whole lives the five of them didn’t even know each other existed until high school. It wasn’t until 2015 that T.H.E.M. actually became a group. In 2017 T.H.E.M. dropped their first single Kill The Hate on sound cloud. It wasn’t until late 2018 when T.H.E.M. dropped new music. Now their EP is dropping soon and they are on a mission to take over the game. Their different styles and flows bring a unique twist to what rap groups are expected to be.

What is your background? tell us where you grew up and some information about your upbringing/experiences as a youth:

Growing up in Philly it’s like a tribal environment. On one block you could have like 4-5 families that are related to each other.  So the neighborhood was close, it’s weird because in Philly you know everybody but don’t know everybody.  Growing up in our city you have to have a chip on your shoulder.  Rocky is like the best representation of Philly because we are fighters.  We don’t back down, tackle football on concrete was normal. You and your friend fight and five minutes later y’all cool again. Seeing junkies 24/7 and hearing people get killed, father gone or in jail. These are just some things that we experienced growing up in our city.

At what moment did you know that music was part of your life and what feelings did you have towards making an active impact with your music?

2015 we all got together and talked about our craft. We knew we had something special in the five of us. The feelings are hard to describe to be honest you just know its feels good. You just cant stop thinking about it and the more you think about it the more you want it.

What artists inspired/influences you and if you could collaborate with any artist (alive or passed) who would it be and why?

The list could go on; Jay Z, Lil Wayne, J Cole, Biggie, Outkast, NWA, Fabolous, Kendrick, 2Pac.  Its way more but all of these artist shape the game in many ways. If given the opportunity to work with any of them (non deceased) would be a blessing.

What do you think about the current state of hip hop/mainstream music?

To be honest the current state of hip hop is great. It’s currently the best genre in music and its only getting better. Right now hip hop is at its most artistic, we have so many different artist with different styles and messages.
