The Independent Awards of the Barcelona International Film Festival starts with pandemic plan offering movies online.

The city of Barcelona this time will celebrate its Independent Awards 2020 virtually from the 23rd to the 27th of November due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Barcelona International Film Festival ®, is holding a new type of festival that will make movies and the people who make them more accessible online.

While several films have postponed their releases there are dozens of being premiered at the Barcelona International Film Festival with organizer showing them at drive in locations and online so people can watch from the comfort of their own home.

Despite the coronavirus outbreak, preparations and plans for holding the Barcelona International Film Festival (#BIFF2020) are underway with anti-COVID-19 preventive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of participants, said the festival’s organizers.

The festival, scheduled between November 23rd to 27th, will screen selected films, including world premieres, and feature a multitude of workshops and panels.

Most of the screenings, with the exception of a few short films, will be geo-locked to viewers in some countries. However, the festival’s five live events will be open to audiences around the world.
