Having quickly made a name for himself within the Swedish club scene, artist, DJ and producer Robin Kadir is now looking to expand his reach to a global audience.
Initially developing an interest in DJing as a University student at Hyper Island, Kadir quickly taught himself the basics and set out to start playing local shows. He soon realized it was his life’s passion and started pursuing it more seriously, to rapid results – within a couple months he was flown out to play two nights at Boston Calling.
That was back in 2018 and since then Kadir has been on quite a run – traveling all around Sweden as a touring DJ, playing at Lollapalooza and Way Out West, all while holding down a resident DJ slot at Stockholm’s most exclusive nightclub – Spy Bar.
Kadir’s DJing led to him developing an interest in production as well. Having already released a couple singles when the pandemic hit, Kadir decided to use the time he now had off from touring to invest in the beat-making and composition side of the industry.
It proved to be a lucrative choice – in 2021 Kadir dropped Sanka, a track made with Swedish rappers Jireel, Macky, and A36. Quickly racking up millions of streams and selling gold on the Swedish charts, the single put Kadir firmly on the map for his local scene and set the stage for something even bigger. Now he’s working on his debut album, set to be released this very year.
As much as he loves production, Kadir is a touring DJ at his core… more specifically a touring DJ who’s itching to get back on the road. And with restrictions starting to lessen worldwide, it looks like he’s got the chance to do just that – coming soon to a city near you.
